HARUKA MOTIOHASHI

Haruka Motohashi is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, also works as a colorist and editor,  based in New York City. Born in Tokyo.

Her documentaries have been screened at numerous Film Festivals: her short film “Back Home” was screened at DOC NYC 2019, won the best documentary at Big Muddy Film Festival (IL) 2018, and have been picked up by a French distributor.

Haruka’s documentaries interweave intimate, personal, and cultural memories with deeply artistic visuals, reflecting on her background visual art practice.

She holds a MFA in film from City college of New York and a BFA in fine arts from the School of the Art institute of Chicago.

She has joined the New Mercury Collective as Colorist for 9/10: Love Before the Fall and will also be a collaborator for the upcoming film of New York Stories.
